West Ham continued their impressive start to the season after managing a 2-1 win over champions Manchester City at Upton Park. The team came under pressure last season due to the dour football that was being played. Manager Sam Allardyce promised a lot of changes this season and he has stayed true to his word in the opening few months of this campaign. New signings like Valencia and Sakho have been influential this campaign, while Morgan Amalfitano continued his goalscoring run against the top teams.

Sam Allardyce has begun the mind games ahead of West Ham’s home match against Liverpool by saying that he is extremely happy to know that his team will not have to face the deadly Luis Suarez, who has been sold to Barcelona. The 27-year-old departed to the Spanish club for a fee of £ 75 million. He was the top marksman in the Premier league last season after scoring more than 30 goals. This led to the striker lifting the PFA Player of the Year award. In the absence of their star asset, Liverpool have been looking less convincing in the attack.

The manager of Wigan Athletic, Uwe Rosler, has said that he has to sign a couple of more players to get his team completed for the upcoming season.
Rosler has already secured the services of as many as 6 players this summer. Five of them are the permanent signings, while, the remaining one i.e. Emyr Huws is a loan signing.
Wigan had a chance to get promoted to the league last season as they had qualified for the Championship playoffs, but, they faltered a little bit in that round and had to stay in the second tier only.

West Ham have been one of the active clubs in this transfer window as they have signed several players even before the start of the proper pre-season. Sam Allardyce is expected to play a more attacking style of football in the upcoming season. In order to facilitate this, the club has been bringing in several new players to the squad. Aaron Cresswell is one of the latest additions after the young right back has joined the club for around £ 3.5 million. He joins from Ipswich, who will be able to receive close to £ 7 million depending upon future performances of the player.

There was once a time when the Frenchman M’Baye Niang was hailed to be as one of the most promising stars of the Serie A as he became the second youngest goal-scorer in the history of the Italian club to score when Niang was 17 years and 350 days old during a Coppa Italia match against Reggina.

Sam Allardyce’s future at West Ham has been looking increasingly bleak the last few weeks after a large section of fans have been turning against him for the style of football at the club. Allardyce is a manager who puts results in front of performances. As a result, West Ham have been able to not only get promoted under his leadership but also stay in the Premier league as well. West Ham, though, have traditionally playing attacking beautiful football. It seems to have been spoilt in the Allardyce.

2 penalty kicks from Steven Gerrard gave Liverpool a controversial 2-1 triumph victory over West Ham and even though the match was played a few days ago, there still are complaints and criticism being made involving some of the decision that were committed in the match.

During West Ham’s match against Liverpool, Gerrard was awarded with a penalty kick at the 44th minute and the veteran midfielder made no mistake in firing it home but Sam Allardyce and his players responded a few minutes later with Guy Demel as he got the ball into the net of Simon Mignolet.

Sam Allardyce wants to bring new arrivals to West Ham and one of the players who is on top of his list is Tottenham’s Kyle Naughton as he could be a long-term replacement for the 32 years old Guy Demel.

Some weeks ago Naughton revealed stated that if his situation with West Ham continues going on the way it is then he would leave Tottenham as he has made less than 9 appearances for the club in this season and he wants more playing time.

Only a few weeks ago, his job was under threat, but Sam Allardyce has managed to turn things around at West Ham United. The 2-0 win over struggling Swansea City proved to be the turnaround of fortunes for West Ham, as they managed to win four consecutive matches.

This is not the first time that the supporters of West Ham United want Sam Allardyce to be given the axe. This has happened in the past as well and every time, the Englishman has managed to silence his critics.

But, one thing is for sure that the current situation is a lot worse than the situations in the past. The hammers have been suffering big defeats on a regular basis and their chances of finishing in the relegation zone are looking pretty good.
